Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation lebanon

It’s the process of enhancing breast size and aesthetics.

Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, is designed to increase the size, shape, or fullness of a woman's breasts. It's one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgeries worldwide.

Here are some key aspects of breast augmentation:

  1. The primary goal is to enhance the size and shape of the breasts. It can also improve symmetry when one breast is noticeably smaller than the other.

  2. Surgeons typically use implants to increase breast size. These implants are filled with silicone gel. The implants are inserted either under the chest muscle and breast tissue (Dual plane placement) or directly behind the breast tissue (Subglandular placement).

It can cause a 1-2 cm nipple elevation, which is an added bonus when treating very mild nipple ptosis (downward displacement).

The patient’s tissues capacity and measurements as well as her wishes are taken into consideration and the surgeon usually offers the best fit. Too big of an implant will cause long term damage to the breast (stretch marks and skin loosening).

Unrealistic demands are usually not met. Natural aesthetics should be conserved and enhanced.

Basically, there are two ways of going at it, with breast implants and with one own’s body fat.

    • Better control over the results (predictable)

    • Preferred when there is nipple ptosis or any other abnormality in breast shape

    • Used in thin patients

    • The most studied medically implantable device: they are safe.

    • Does not interfere with cancer screening

    • Less predictability and small to moderate augmentation

    • Preferred when the original breast shape is adequate

    • Risk of mismatch (fat graft take is about 60-75%)

    • Smooth feel but will decrease in size with weight loss

    • Does not interfere with cancer screening

    1. Upper pole–to–lower pole ratio 45:55%

    2. Nipple angulation - 20 degrees skyward

    3. Upper pole slope - Straight/mildly concave

    4. Lower pole convexity - Tight convex curve
